Looking After Your Mental Health
Time To Talk:
We want to provide you with as many ways to raise concerns and to talk about how you are feeling. Here are some different ways:
- Speak to your class teacher or another member of staff in school
- Talk openly in lessons for example Personal, Social, Heath Education or circle time
- Talk through worries and problems KIVA lessons (Key stage 2)
- Write down your worry and put it in our worry boxes/monsters in your class– an adult will read it and help you
- Use our calm corners in our classrooms
- Talk to Miss Sketchley. Mrs Ryles or Mrs Boughey – they are trained to support and help you
- Talk to your parents, siblings, family members – a trusted adult
Emotionally Healthy Schools
At Pear Tree Primary School our Emotionally Healthy Schools lead is Mrs Natalie Zatrakova. Mrs Zatrakova has completed the Mental Health First Aid Youth Course. All teaching staff at Pear Tree and several support staff have also completed the Mental Health Awareness Training. Miss Sketchley, Mrs Boughey and Mrs Ryles have also completed their ELSA training (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants). Mrs Cliff is our nurture lead for children needing the support of our Rainbow Club!

Read a book – we have lots of books in our library that may help you to understand some of your feelings. Ask an adult to help you choose one if you are not sure.

Winston’s wish – have you lost someone you love? Dealing with loss can be really hard. This website can help you
