Curriculum

Curriculum Rationale

At Pear Tree Primary School, we deliver the National Curriculum through an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum that is designed to excite, engage and inspire all pupils. Through rich and purposeful experiences, we aim to nurture well-rounded citizens who are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Our values of positivity, empathy, aspiration, resilience and community are embedded across every aspect of the curriculum, and pupils are encouraged to strive for excellence through our motto, “Being our best selves”. Our curriculum is knowledge-rich and carefully planned to provide appropriate challenge and support, ensuring pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their learning. We are committed to adaptive teaching, underpinned by our Pear Tree Pupil Entitlement, so that the curriculum meets the needs of all learners.

Subjects are carefully sequenced to secure progression and ensure full coverage of the National Curriculum aims. Through meaningful and memorable learning experiences, pupils develop their cultural capital, inspire a love of learning, and make sense of the world around them.

Pear Tree Pupil Entitlement

Our Pear Tree Pupil Entitlement sets out what every pupil can expect in every lesson. It ensures consistency in teaching and learning across the curriculum and guarantees that every pupil has the support they need to succeed.  Our Pupil Entitlement can be accessed below.
