Red Class 2025 - 2026
Mrs Swallow
Yellow Class Teacher
Welcome to Red Class
A very warm welcome to Red Class. I hope you have all had a lovely summer and that your child is ready to start their Pear Tree Journey.
We have such an exciting year planned and can not wait to get started. Our priorities are to get to know the children and establish clear routines ensuring that they feel happy and secure in their new school environment.
I have put together some key information - I hope you find it useful.
Staff
The staff in Red Class are Debbie Swallow, Cheryl Kay, Carly Logan and Emily Shepherd
PE
PE is on a Friday. On Fridays, children will need to come to school in their PE kit.
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is on a Tuesday. Children will need to come to school in their own clothes (suitable for the weather) Outdoor learning can be messy so please come in appropriate clothing.
Water
Children will need to bring a water bottle to school every day.
Snacks
We have snack time every morning. Please put snacks in small containers and ensure they are named. We also offer children milk at snack time in the morning. Snacks could include: a piece of fruit, vegetable sticks, cheese and crackers. We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL so please no nuts or sweets. The children can also buy toast or juice at snack time. It is 25p per piece of toast and 45p for juice. We provide fruit in the afternoon as part of the Health Schools Programme.
Wellies and Waterproofs
Children will need wellies and waterproofs in school at all times. Children have access to the outdoors throughout the day and therefore wellies and waterproofs are essential.
Reading Diaries
Within the first week of school we will give your child a reading diary. It is used as a reading record and for messages. Write in the reading diary if there are any changes to who will be picking your child up at the end of the day.
When we start our Little Wandle Program, we encourage the children to read 5 times a week at home. Every time they read at home they will move up our reading stars. If they read five times in a week then they will get a special sticker on a book mark. We will hear children read at least three times per week in school. Reading books are changed each week. Children will also bring home a book from our school library too. There will be more information about the Little Wandle at a meeting (dates coming soon).
If you have any queries/ questions then please see me on the gate, email me or ring school and I will do my best to help.
Finally, I am so lucky to be working with your children this year. I know the year will be filled with learning, adventures, laughter and lots of fun!
Kind regards,
Debbie Swallow
