Red Class Newsletter Summer Term 2017
Welcome back to Red Class. Well, I cannot believe how fast the year has gone and here we are about to enter the final term and it’s going to be a fantastic term too!
Our learning this term – We will be starting off with a science question and this will be linked to our topic of ‘Growing and Minibeasts’.
We will be reading a range of books such as:
The Very Busy Spider
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Tiny Seed
The Teeny Weeny Tadpole
What the Ladybird Heard and more…..
- will be learning lots about how to look after plants and mini-beasts. See our long term plan for more information.
Snacks – Please send snack in a SMALL container or just with their name on. We have so many containers we can’t fit them all in our basket anymore, thank you.
- – We will continue to read with your child each week. Every child gets to read with at least one of our team and sometimes this is more. Please continue to read and write in your journal at home so your child can move across the ‘reading stars.’
Parent Helpers – WE NEED YOU! If you are willing to give up a short space of time to support our learning or utilise your skills e.g. reading, sewing in Red Cass we would be really grateful. Just pop in and let us know!
P.E. and Forest School CHANGE OF DAYS – P.E will be on every Monday and Forest school will take place on a Tuesday. Please ensure PE bags and forest school bags, with wellies and waterproofs are back in school after the Easter break and check everything still fits and is named.
Now that we are entering the summer term we will be doing lots of running. This will also be on every morning at 8:30am so you can join in too! It isn’t a race and I want the children to enjoy it and at the same time improve their fitness and stamina.
We will be walking, jogging or running around the field or playground each day, so you might start to hear about it at home.
This term we will hopefully be organising a trip to Milldale (The Scout Camp) on the way to Bridgemere. Where we will go as a Key Stage, so we will team up with Orange and Yellow class too. We will have den building, scavenger hunts, fires, forest art and a whole lot more. We also need lots of parent helpers too! So keep a look out for more information.
